1. Our Commitment to Transparency
Sydney Express is committed to being transparent about how we operate and how we earn revenue. This page explains our affiliate relationships and what they mean for you as a visitor to sydneyexpress.com.au.
2. What Is an Affiliate Relationship?
Some pages on Sydney Express contain links to third-party products, services, experiences, and bookings. When you click one of these links and make a purchase or booking, we may receive a commission or referral fee from the third-party provider at no additional cost to you. This is known as affiliate marketing.
The commission we receive does not affect the price you pay. You will never pay more by booking or purchasing through a link on Sydney Express than you would by going directly to the provider.
3. Our Affiliate Partnerships
Sydney Express currently participates in the following affiliate programmes:
Viator — Sydney Express is a participant in the Viator affiliate programme. Viator is a Tripadvisor company and one of the world’s leading platforms for tours, activities, and experiences. Our Express Experiences page features Sydney-based tours and activities sourced via the Viator API. When you book an experience through a link on our Express Experiences page, we may earn a commission from Viator. All experiences displayed are genuine Viator listings and are not fabricated or selectively promoted based on commission rate alone.
Express Essentials — Our Express Essentials page shows products from Australian online retailers we work with through affiliate partnerships. When you click through and buy from a retailer featured on that page, we may earn a commission. The order in which products appear is worked out from factors including price, the size of any genuine discount, brand, category and the commission we may earn.
Express Events — Our Express Events page lists Sydney events using Ticketmaster’s public event information. Ticket links take you to Ticketmaster. We do not currently earn a commission on these tickets. If that changes, we will update this page.
From time to time, Sydney Express may enter into affiliate arrangements with other third-party providers of products and services relevant to Sydney locals and visitors. Where such arrangements exist, they will be covered by this disclaimer.
4. Editorial Independence
Our affiliate relationships do not decide which businesses appear in the Sydney Express directory, and they do not affect reviews or star ratings. Listed businesses can pay for a plan or for advertising placements (Spotlight, Top of Search and Sidebar ads); paid placements are always labelled as ads. We do not accept payment for reviews, and payment never changes a business’s rating.
5. No Guarantee of Outcomes
Sydney Express does not guarantee any particular result from booking or purchasing through an affiliate link on our Website. We are not responsible for the quality, safety, accuracy, or legality of any third-party product, service, or experience. Any dispute arising from a booking or purchase made through a third-party link must be resolved directly with that provider.
Prices, discounts, availability and event details shown on our pages come from our partners’ information and can change at any time. The price and terms shown on the provider’s website when you book or buy are the ones that apply.
6. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this disclaimer limits, excludes, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy you may have under the Australian Consumer Law as set out in Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth). If you believe a product or service purchased through an affiliate link on our Website has not met a consumer guarantee, you should contact the provider directly in the first instance.
