SYDNEY EXPRESS – COOKIE POLICY

Finance Systems Australia Pty Ltd | ABN: 39 654 030 332 | ACN: 654 030 332 | Effective Date: 14/11/2026 | Version 1.0

1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how Finance Systems Australia Pty Ltd (ABN: 39 654 030 332; ACN: 654 030 332), operating the Sydney Express Business Directory (“Sydney Express”, “we”, “us”, “our”) at sydneyexpress.com.au (“Website”), uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit our Website.

This Cookie Policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions, both available on our Website. When you first visit, our cookie banner lets you accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or choose by category. Strictly necessary cookies are always used, because the Website cannot work without them.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to website operators.

Cookies may be:

• Session cookies: temporary cookies that are deleted when you close your browser.
• Persistent cookies: cookies that remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them manually.
• First-party cookies: set directly by Sydney Express when you visit our Website.
• Third-party cookies: set by external services we integrate with, such as Google Analytics or Google Maps.

3. Cookies We Use

3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the Website to function and cannot be switched off. They are set in response to actions you take, such as logging in, filling in forms, or setting your privacy preferences. Without these cookies, services you have requested cannot be provided.

3.2 Analytics & Performance Cookies

These cookies help us count visits and understand how visitors use the Website so we can improve it. If you choose Reject All, Google Analytics cookies are no longer set. The information is used in aggregated form and we do not use it to identify you.

We also use Ahrefs Web Analytics, which counts page views without setting cookies. To do this it briefly processes technical details such as your IP address and browser type.

We use Google Analytics to understand Website traffic patterns, popular listing categories, and visitor behaviour. Google Analytics data is processed in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

3.3 Functional Storage

Some pages store small amounts of data in your browser’s local storage (not as cookies), such as cached directory categories and suburb lists, so searches load faster. This data stays on your device, is not sent to anyone, and is not used to track you. You can remove it by clearing site data for sydneyexpress.com.au in your browser.

3.4 Third-Party & Integration Cookies

Our Website integrates with third-party services that may set their own cookies. We do not control these cookies and they are governed by the respective third party’s privacy and cookie policies.

• Google Maps: used to show business locations on listing pages. Google may set cookies when the map loads. See policies.google.com/privacy.
• Google reCAPTCHA: protects our forms from spam and abuse. Google may set a cookie (_GRECAPTCHA) for this purpose. See policies.google.com/privacy.
• YouTube: where a page includes a YouTube video or player, YouTube may set cookies (such as YSC and VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE) when it loads. See policies.google.com/privacy.
• Outbound links: when you click a link to Viator, a retailer featured on Express Essentials, or Ticketmaster, that website (or, for Viator and retailers, the affiliate network that tracks the referral) may set cookies on its own website. Those cookies are governed by that company’s policies.

4. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

4.1 Cookie Consent Banner

When you first visit our Website, you will be presented with a cookie consent notice. You may accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or customise your preferences. You can change your preferences at any time by clearing your browser cookies for sydneyexpress.com.au and revisiting the Website.

4.2 Browser Settings

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies, delete existing cookies, or alert you when cookies are set. Please note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of certain parts of the Website, including the ability to log in, save preferences, and view maps.

5. Cookies & Personal Information

Where cookies collect or are linked to personal information (for example, when you are logged in to your Sydney Express account), that information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available at sydneyexpress.com.au/privacy-policy. We do not sell your personal information or cookie data to third parties.

6. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date above. We encourage you to review this Cookie Policy periodically.
